Creating Switch Groups – Add Field

  • User Switch Groups allow standard users to switch between their account and other specified standard user accounts in order to work on material and/or send out communications for other users. To create Switch groups, you must have a user profile field set up to contain the switch group information. To add a profile field go to: Administration  User Management  Manage User Profile Fields.
  • On the Manage User Profile Fields page review the list of profile fields to see if a Switch Group field has been created. The name of this field is not specific and would be something an admin from your team previously set up. If it looks like no fields exits for this, click the “Create New Field” button to create a new profile field.

Creating Switch Groups – Edit Field

  1. Give the profile field a Display Name and Tag name. You can also provide a description of what the field should contain. The Display Name can be anything. The Tag name must be lower case and it is recommended that it closely matches the Display Name to make it easier to remember.
  2. Select the “Text” field type from the drop down. This will display the “Text Attribute” options. Select the second checkbox to make this a Switch Group field.
  3. Read through and choose the “yes” or “no” options to configure this profile field. Be sure to save your changes by clicking the “Save and Continue” button.
