Promo Points

If your organization provides co-op dollars for marketing for your users, or if you use Prospect Finder for acquisition email campaigns, our new functionality enhancements to our Promo Points system will be of interest to you.

 

For Administrators:

1. We have added the ability to mass upload Promo Points via the User Upload interface. Simply add a column to your user upload .csv with the column header "promo_points" with the respective values for each user and upload as usual. You will find the User Upload by going to:

Administration>Manage Users and Groups. Select the button "Import Users"

We have also added a Promo Point Ledger that will allow you to provide accounting for Promo Point usage. This should ease your end-of-fiscal year accounting when users question their usage. This report will allow you to:

a. View promo points for all users, or for one particular user
b. View promo points based on the type of transaction, for instance Promo points used for Email campaigns vs those used for Print Fulfillment.
c. View promo point usage across a period of time.
d. As is true for all of our administrative reports, you can also download the results for offline data analysis.


 

Transaction Type Definitions

  • Manual Adjustment – The value for Promo Points was manually adjusted via the Manage Users and Groups interface
  • Purchase Order – Print Fulfillment Order
  • Purchase Order Cancel – In the case of a print fulfillment order being cancelled, the promo points are returned to the user account and a positive adjustment made.
  • System Adjustment – The Promo Points were adjusted by an administrator via a User import or via Promo Point Rules
  • Email Send – Indicated Promo Points being used for email campaign sends via Prospect Finder List Acquisition
  • Email Send Cancel – In the event an email is not approved to send, the Promo Points are returned to the user account and a positive adjustment made.
  • Sign Up - Users that sign up

For End Users:

To help alleviate the end-of-fiscal-year questions from users regarding their promo point usage, each user can now view a report on ONLY their usage of promo points using the same interface, but limited to only their user account details this is represented by a star icon.

Users can select the link that shows their Promo Point balance at the top of every page of the DMP. This will take them to same Promo Point ledger interface, limited to only their account details.
 

Promo Point Rules

While this is not new functionality, we felt it relevant to remind you of other Promo Point functionality contained within your platform. This is located under administration>fulfillment center.

Your current DMP contains functionality to create Rulesets regarding Promo Point values. This function runs every night and allows you to:

1. Define a rule based on the day of the month
2. Define what users or groups the rule applies to
3. Set Promo Points to a fixed value
4. Increase Promo Points by a fixed value (would a percentage work?)
5. Decrease Promo Points by a fixed value (would a percentage work?)
6. Limit Promo Points to a fixed value.

You can also have multiple rulesets, ie. one for Usergroup XX and one for Usergroup YY with different values or dates.
