Creating Custom Homepages

Use custom homepages to help users quickly access features or content in the system. Set up multiple homepages to tailor the experience for different users and/or user groups.

  • Custom homepages are built with HTML and fit in the space between the top menu bar and bottom footer bar of the platform. All other elements outside this area are controlled by the platform theme.
  • To create and manage custom homepages, go to: Administration Interface and Navigation Manage Custom Home Pages

Custom Homepage - Manager

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the page. Type in name for the new custom homepage in the “New Custom Home A Page Name” box and click “Add”. Then, using the on-line editor, create or paste HTML for the homepage.
  2. Use the actions drop down to Preview, Edit, Rename, Duplicate or delete a homepage.
  3. Set permissions on who can view a custom homepage by clicking on the permissions line next to the homepage name you want to edit permissions for.
  4. Users and Groups should only be assigned to one homepage. If a user or group is assigned to more than one, this notification will inform you so you can make the correction.

Custom Homepage - Editor

  1. The custom homepage editor uses the same HTML online editor found throughout the platform. Use the editor tools to create your homepage content, or copy and paste your HTML code into the HTML editor. When all your edits are made, click the “save” button to save changes, or click the “Save and Preview” button to save changes and automatically be shown a preview of the homepage content.

NOTE: The content may look different in the preview as it will not be constrained by the platform theme like it will when viewed as an actual homepage. The best way to test the final look is to set the homepage viewable permission to yourself and go back to the homepage to view saved changes you have made.
