Administrators can navigate through the menu system or click on the Import Users button on the Manager Users & Groups page to create or update multiple users in mass by importing a CSV file into the system.
Select File
The page details the appropriate headers needed for the CSV file or an Administrator can click on the “Download Example” link to obtain a formatted file with the headers and examples already populated.
Note that the columns are not limited to what is in the example file. Virtually any profile field can be mapped to a column. Also, the email, first_name, and last_name columns are required.
Once the CSV file is formatted and populated with data click on the Browse button to upload the CSV file and click on continue to view the next steps, Map Columns.
Map Columns
The next step after uploading the CSV file is mapping the columns in the CSV file to profile fields and other new user options.
If the file is large and will take a significant amount of time to process, click on the Background process checkbox to before clicking on the Continue button. This will direct the session to a page to observe the progress of the import/update process.
Upload
Once the new the creation or update of users is complete the session should lead to page that will indicate a successful import and counts of various events/alerts that may have occurred during the import process.
